The Salon
A Live, Guided Discussion Space for Homeschooled High Schoolers Who Want to Think for Themselves
There used to be places where people went not to perform intelligence, but to sharpen it. Not to repeat what they’d heard, but to test what they believed. The Salon is that kind of space—modernized for high schoolers craving real conversation.
Each week, students are given one single topic—something philosophical, literary, cultural, moral, or existential. They’re expected to come in curious. Not with a polished opinion, but with a mind that wants to engage.
No lectures. No grades.
Just one big question—and a room full of young thinkers ready to take it apart.
Discussion is guided to keep it deep, relevant, and respectful. Students will learn how to:
– Ask better questions
– Articulate their beliefs
– Challenge ideas (and themselves)
– Listen well—which is rare, and possibly the most underrated skill in writing and life
Students will leave sharper, braver, and more intellectually awake than when they came in.
Who It's For
The Salon is open to high school homeschoolers who are:
– Willing to think out loud
– Capable of listening without interrupting
– Hungry for deeper conversations than what’s usually offered in teen spaces
Writers, questioners, introverts, debaters, readers, quiet smart kids—this is for them.
