Personalized Tutoring for Every Creative Mind

Homeschooling gives students an incredible opportunity to learn beyond the limits of a classroom, with an education that’s intentional, flexible, and deeply personal. But some subjects benefit from expert coaching—especially writing.

At Ms. Libby’s Lab, we understand that every student learns differently — and that sometimes, a bit of one-on-one attention is all it takes to bring their strengths into focus. Whether your child is looking to strengthen their creative writing, sharpen their English skills, or prepare for college, our personalized tutoring sessions are designed to meet them exactly where they are.

Our approach goes beyond homework help. We focus on building confidence, encouraging creativity, and helping students find and trust their own voice. Each session is shaped around your child’s learning style, goals, and interests — so they can grow not just as a student, but as a thinker and writer.

From tricky essays to short stories to college applications, we offer steady support through every stage. Let’s make learning personal, meaningful, and — yes — even fun.

This program is structured coaching that supplements your homeschooling curriculum, providing your student with:
One-on-one instruction tailored to their strengths, weaknesses, and interests
A structured but flexible curriculum focused on creative writing and literature analysis
Detailed, professional feedback on their writing, guiding them through the revision process
A chance to learn from an expert—so they develop high-level writing skills that prepare them for college and beyond

What This Tutoring Program Is (and What It Isn’t)

This IS a core part of your student’s English curriculum. It fulfills key components of high school language arts, including reading analysis, writing practice, and structured revision.

This IS NOT a full replacement for all English coursework. While this covers creative writing, literature, and essay writing, you may still want to include additional grammar study or assigned reading lists depending on your state’s homeschooling requirements.

State Homeschooling Requirements (and How This Helps You Meet Them)

Most states require homeschooling parents to provide instruction in reading, grammar, social studies, mathematics, and science, though the specific guidelines vary. That means you have flexibility, but it also means it’s up to you to ensure your high schooler is prepared for college-level writing.

This program helps you meet and exceed state homeschooling requirements by providing:

  • Writing instruction & practice (both creative and academic)
  • Literary analysis & discussion (based on real works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry)
  • Guided writing revision (because writing well means learning how to edit)
  • Mentorship on storytelling, style, and structure

How It Works

Each week, your student will:
🖊 Complete a creative writing or essay assignment based on structured prompts and readings
📖 Analyze literature—not just reading, but understanding how great writers craft their stories and essays
💬 Submit their work for real feedback, which we’ll go over together in session
🔄 Revise and improve their writing based on our discussions

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a dialogue. Your student will get real coaching, not generic feedback, and will have the chance to ask questions about:

  • Creative writing techniques (how to make their writing stronger, more compelling, more original)
  • The publishing world (for those interested in writing as a career)
  • The writing process itself (from brainstorming to final draft)

Your student will develop a stronger grasp of storytelling, writing mechanics, and literary analysis—skills that prepare them for college, careers, and personal creative growth.
