The Book Club
A Guided, Genre-Hopping Discussion Space for Homeschooled Readers Who Want to Go Deeper
Books get richer—and way more fun—when you explore them with others.
The Book Club is a six-month literary journey built for teens who want more than plot summaries and character charts. Each month, students read one book on their own—across six different genres or on a specific theme—to stretch their curiosity, taste, and understanding of how stories work.
When we meet, the book is discussed, challenged, and turned over and looked at from different angles.
Not “What happened?” but Why does it matter?
What does it say about people, choices, truth, courage, identity, good, and evil?
No quizzes.
Real conversation sparked by excellent books.
Discussion is guided to keep it meaningful, inclusive, and genuinely fun. Along the way, students learn how to:
– Notice what makes a story powerful
– Move beyond “I liked it” to deeper interpretation
– Connect themes across genres
– Listen to others’ insights and build on them
– Enter a conversation ready to think, not just repeat
By the end of six months, readers leave more confident, more thoughtful, and more widely read—with a better sense of what kind of literature calls to them.
